Research on the target audience.

The target audience is 18-35 'millennials'. Millennials are a generational demographic cohort. There is no precise date for when the cohort starts or ends but a millennial will typically be someone who was born in the early 1980's to the early 2000's. This is why the target audience is 18-35, as there is no exact age of what a millennial should be. There is some variation, but a millennial is typically associated with an increased use and familiarity with communications, media, and digital technologies. Surveys of political attitudes of millennials in the UK have shown that they have increasingly socially liberal views. They are likely to have a bigger emphasis on political correctness than older generations. Economic prospects for many millennials have been damaged by the global financial crisis in the 2000's. Millennials are likely to consume TV on many different devices, for example on mobile phones, or laptops or traditional televisions. Millennials stream the most video and music out of any age group, and consume the least print media and pay television of any age group. According to research on Hollywood.com, there are 6 major categories of shows that attract the most millennials. These are:

1. Scripted dramas that discuss social issues, eg. Scandal, People vs OJ Simpson, How to get away with murder.
2. Scripted comedies with an underlying social message, eg. Black-ish, Inside Amy Schumer.
3. Unscripted series with a social angle, eg. I am Cait, Becoming us, Born this way.
4. News driven programs with social commentary, eg. Last week tonight with John Oliver, Vice.
5. Documentaries looking to create social changes, eg. 30 for 30, Going clear, Making a murder.
6. Standard millennial content that preaches social values, eg. The Fosters, Switched at birth, Degrassi: Next class.

7. Football night in America
